The Indianapolis Colts are your 2007 Super Bowl XLI Champions

Finally, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts have finally won the big one.

Peyton Manning knew that this game could very well define his legacy to NFL Football. No matter how many games he won for the Colts, no matter how many times they ALMOST went through a season undefeated, no matter how many times he sets passing records, he will still be the man who can't win the big one.

Tell that to Peyton Manning now. As of the moment, Peyton Manning is a Super Bowl champion. Oh yeah, he's the Super Bowl XLI MVP too. In a game full of turnovers, something that made the game even more exciting, Peyton Manning led the AFC Champions, Indianapolis Colts, to win Super Bowl XLI, 29-17, over the Chicago Bears.

The ''scared'' look coming from Peyton Manning's face before the game was replaced with jubilation after the final horn sounded. After throwing for 247 yards and being as effective a QB as he could be, he sure deserves it. I got to admit, I had some doubts about Peyton winning the big one this season, but it's awfully nice to finally see him lifting that Vince Lombardi trophy standing on a podium.

What happened to the no.1 ranked Bears defense in NFL Football?

Well, the Chicago Bears D could not even touch Peyton. They did sack him once if my memory serves me right but that was basically it. Peyton just kept on eating and eating away yards to lead the Indianapolis Colts offense towards the endzone. And when they did get there, boy, they were simply unstoppable.

As for Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman? He was consistent THIS TIME. But it was a different kind of consistency the Bears were looking for. He was consistent; a good starter, an awful finisher.

Rex Grossman was fairly brilliant in the first half but when he came out of the locker room to play the second, he was as awful as can be. He just kept on dropping snaps, fumbling footballs and throwing interceptions. Story of the season for Rex eh?

The premiere attraction during Super Bowl XLI was when the Indianapolis Colts offense got on the field to go up against the Chicago Bears defense. It was Peyton Manning going up against Brian Urlacher.

Peyton Manning is one of the very best quarterbacks in the game. However, he can't seem to dominate games in the playoffs as well as he dominates the regular season. However, with his experience, talent and intelligence, I would still go with him leading my team to win a football game.

And at Super Bowl XLI, he did exactly that.

He's found a way to exploit the Bears' defense, and when it counted the most, he came up with the big plays. Besides, Brian Urlacher and the rest of the Bears defense don't have the interchangeable pieces the Baltimore Ravens D has so I guess Manning SHOULD HAVE an easier time against the Bears D even before they took the field compared to the one he had against Baltimore when he can only come up with field goals.

Rex Grossman was in a somewhat familiar territory, coming to this game against the Colts. Like Grossman, last year's Super Bowl champions, Pittsburgh Steelers, have a young quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger who tends to rely on his defense and his running backs to be successful.

Rex Grossman was THAT guy at the Super Bowl and the Chicago Bears then were also starting to make similar adjustments, putting their young quarterback in more favorable positions. It just wasn't good enough for a Super Bowl win.
